Webcast Summary
Funded by donors and a grant from the government, this educational webcast was designed to share safety information with the public in a geographical area where trapping and hunting is a way of life. A two-hour virtual event conducted in an old schoolhouse, the not-for-profit association’s educational webcast was free and open to anyone who was interested in attending. It doubled as a fundraising event for the association, with attendees provided with ways to donate.
A nationally recognized animal rescue expert presented live, demonstrating with a toy stuffed dog how one might encounter various traps and snares. He showed attendees how to open the traps in the event a pet got caught in one, as well as shared lifesaving first aid techniques. Pre-recorded video clips showing what the traps look like in the wild were also used as part of the webcast, which culminated in a lengthy Q&A session.
Rally Point Webinars’ Webcast Difference
- Rally Point Webinars facilitated significant preparation for this educational webcast by conducting multiple rehearsals prior to showtime. Rally Point Webinars worked with an on-site producer to test the cameras and radio frequency microphone in a studio to ensure it all worked properly with the virtual event platform; verified that the audio, Internet, cameras, and lighting all worked in the schoolhouse prior to the event day; and conducted a rehearsal with the presenter to make sure he was comfortable with the staging, production timeline, and technology.
- Rally Point Webinars seamlessly hosted the two-hour webcast, moving from the live presenter to the pre-recorded footage of traps in the wild to the interactive Q&A at the end of the session. - With marketing on Facebook, through fellow not-for-profits, and via email campaigns to members and subscribers, the association drummed up significant interest for the event. Rally Point Webinars provided source code tracking on its event registration platform to monitor the effectiveness of each marketing tactic. The entire event was recorded and edited to create a lasting, high-quality, on-demand video asset for the association. In addition, the video can be broken out into small tips segments for use on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and more. All in all, the educational webcast was a tremendous success, and the fact that it was all expertly captured and edited will enable the educational information to be shared for years to come.
